Bayview/Baycrest Court H.O.A. 

7/14/23 -As you may be aware, the mailboxes within the community were recently vandalized. The HOA has made a formal report with Newport PD as well as with USPS Postal Inspectors.

 

As a result, some of the mailboxes are not closing due to individual mailbox doors being forced open and are now bent.

 

The HOA is in the process of repairing the bent doors.

 

However, there are some mailboxes that are missing their lock, or have broken locks as a result of the vandalism.  There are approximately 25 mailboxes that need to have their locks replaced. Please note that the mailbox lock / locking mechanisms are to be maintained/repaired at Homeowner expense. The HOA is responsible for repairing the mailbox structure but not the locks.

 

If your mailbox is missing the lock or has a damaged lock, you will need to stop by the local USPS office and request a lock change. USPS will do so for a $50.00 fee and you will receive new keys.

 

An alternative for those needing a new lock, is to go to your local Ace Hardware store; they sell the lock and two keys for about $10-$15.
